WBBSE Preparation Advisory for the Satellite Schools Chlorination systems: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has issued a strict warning to all its satellite schools for the coming Class 10 (Madhyamik) examination from the year 2026. The board has instructed schools to maintain a check that no controversial, politically sensitive, or anti-social questions are placed in the examination papers.

As per the new guidelines, the WBBSE has reminded that all questions should be based on the syllabus and curriculum. The circular is issued in a bid to retain equal opportunity for all students and keep the examination fair based on the topics covered in the academic sessions.

The board has clarified in the circular that the question paper of the internal as well as pre-board examination can be set only by the subject-specific teachers. Thereafter, if any defamatory or sensitive question is included in any paper, the headmaster/ headmistress of the school will be held responsible for such lapses.

The decision follows several previous instances where certain exam questions attracted public attention, with political or sensitive undertones. Learning from these instances, the board has now decided to move ahead with a precautionary measure to protect the sanctity of examinations and avoid such controversies in the future.

Under the new process, the WBBSE has also specified a schedule for the submission of Class 10 question papers. The schools will have to submit them from November 3 to 13, 2025 . This will give enough time for the board to process the papers so that all are ready for the 2026 Madhyamik exam.

WBBSE wants to bring about fairness, transparency, and neutrality in the examination system through this order. 'The question papers can be kept neutral and completely based on the syllabus,' the board believes, and the students of the whole of West Bengal will get a smooth and peaceful examination.
