Alagappa College of Technology, ChennaiAlagappa College of Technology (ACT) offers courses in Technology, engineering and applied sciences based on projected needs of the society. ACT was established in 1944. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) . ACT has it's affiliation with Anna University. The University was established on 4th September 1978. ACT is developed as a unitary type of University. Anna University Campus is located in situated in the capital city of Tamil Nadu i.e. city of Madras (Chennai), the main campus of the university spreads over 100 hectares touching the Raj Bhavan on the south and Adyar River on the north. The campus presently also has Bioprocess Laboratory which is donated by SPIC and for advanced studies there are few more campuses which are likely to be housed there in future, like Entreprenuership Development Park, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Convention Centre, Sugar Research Institute, and Mechatronics Institute.
