The students of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana bagged 15% of seats in reputed institutions IITs and NITs. So far, two rounds of counselling have been completed and 1,753 students of AP & TS secured seats in IITs. A total number of 4,991 students of both Telugu states secured seats in NITs and IIITs. A total number of 6,744 students of AP & TS secured seats in IITs, NITS, and IIITs. This year, the percentage of students increased in the number of admissions for these reputed institutions.

The increase in a number of admissions for IITs and NITs the demand for the engineering seats in both Telugu states has been declined. Only 60% of engineering seats have been filled in both the states so far and most of the colleges even did not management to get 50 admissions in the first phase of counselling. The parents are interested to see their children studying in national level institutions like IITs and NITs.
Moreover, this year most of the students secured excellent percentage in Intermediate examinations and secured excellent scores in IIT-JEE examination through which they have qualified to seek admissions in IITs and NITs. The officials of intermediate board mentioned that the curriculum of intermediate has been designed on par with the standards of IIT-JEE.
