Admission Notice – Chennai Mathematical Institute Announces Admission for its various programme
Chennai Mathematical Institute has invited applications for admission to the various Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral Programmes for 2016–17.
The Programmes offered by the Institute includes (i) 3-Year B.Sc. (Honours) Programme in Mathematics and Computer Science (ii) 3-Year B.Sc. (Honours) Programme in Mathematics and Physics (iii) 2-Year M.Sc. Programme in Mathematics (iv) 2-Year M.Sc. Programme in Computer Science (v) 2-Year M.Sc. Programme in Applications of Mathematics (vi) Ph.D. Programme in Mathematics (vii) Ph.D. Programme in Computer Science and (viii) Ph.D. Programme in Physics
Selection to the Programmes will be based on an Entrance Examination. For PG and Ph.D. Programmes, there will be an Interview also at Chennai.
The entrance examinations will be held on May 18, 2016 (Wednesday) at Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Kolkata, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Shillong, Silchar, Srinagar and Trivandrum.
The examination for BSc (common exam for BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science, and BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Physics) will be held in the Morning session, from 09.30 am to 12.30 pm. The examination for MSc/Ph.D. Mathematics, MSc/Ph.D. Computer Science, MSc Applications of Mathematics and Ph.D. Physics will be held In the Afternoon session, from 14:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs.
How to apply-
The application can be submitted online at http://apply2016.cmi.ac.in/ till April 15,2016. It can also be submitted by requesting a printed application form, either by post or in person and submitting the same, filled up. The preferred mode of applying to CMI's programmes is to fill out the online application form.
The total tuition fees for the M.Sc. programme will be Rs. 4800/-. A limited number of scholarships will be available. A full scholarship will consist of a waiver of tuition fees and a monthly allowance of Rs. 6000/-. A half-scholarship will consist of the tuition fees being waived. The eligibility of a student to receive a scholarship will be reviewed every semester and will depend on satisfactory academic performance.
The last date for receiving completed application forms is Friday, 15 April 2016.
