The Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test counselling has commenced on 16-June-2016. AP ECET is an entrance examination conducted by JNTU, Ananthapur for the lateral entry into B.Tech and B.Pharmacy courses. The ECET examination was held in the 1st week of May. The results were released in the third week of May. This year the number of students who attended the examination has been raised to 5% compared to the previous year.
The counselling is being conducted in the 3 centers of Vijayawada. The three centers for counselling are:-
- Andhra Loyola College
- SRR & CVR Government Degree College
- Government polytechnic College.
On the first day, the certificates of the candidates who secured ranks between 1 – 7000 were verified. The candidates who secured ranks 1 – 3,500 attended counselling at SRR & CVR College. The candidates who secured ranks 3,501 – 7,000 attended counselling at Andhra Loyola College. The counselling for NCC and sports candidates has been conducted at Government Polytechnic College.
The counselling commenced at 9.00 AM and continued till 5.00 PM. The counselling went on in a smooth manner. The students were escorted by their parents to the examination centers. The Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation has run special buses to the counselling centers in the morning and evening.
