Assam is in the grip of one of the most severe floods in recent years. The situation is pretty grave with landslides and heavy rainfall wreaking havoc on residents, destroying houses and causing death. Several people have also gone missing and are yet to be traced by the Indian Army and other NGOs that are conducting relief and rescue operations in the state. Considering the condition, the ICAI CA exam 2022 has been postponed.
Help has started pouring in from the Union Government as Home Minister Amit Shah has expressed heartfelt condolences regarding the natural calamity in Assam and assured the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma of any and all cooperation and support as well as funds if necessary. Meanwhile, with entrance examinations looming, students from Assam have found themselves in a perilous situation. Anxious, several NEET PG aspirants have already asked the Union Health Ministry to postpone the exam as several exam centres in Assam have been hit badly due to the raging storms and extreme rainfall. The Met Department has predicted that the situation will continue till Wednesday at the very least.
Meanwhile, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has just issued an official press release that states that the Final and Intermediate examinations on Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics and Cost and Management Accounting respectively have been postponed from May 19 and 20, 2022 respectively. However, aspirants must note that this postponement is only valid for the examination centre in Silchar, Assam which has seen some of the worst floods of late.
The new date for the conduction of the aforementioned examinations will be released by ICAI on its official website - icai.org soon. The concerned authorities have also intimated the Office of Deputy Commissioner, District Disaster Management Authority, Silchar, Assam regarding the same.
Examination dates shall remain unchanged for all other areas of India.
