The Barpeta Howly College, Howly has been awarded ‘A’ Grade (CGPA 3.11) by the NAAC. The result was officially declared on May 25 by the NAAC peer team at the NAAC office in Bangalore.
A peer team of NAAC had visited the college on April 28, 29 and 30 as part of the Cycle 2 assessment of the college. The team comprised of Prof S Sivasubramanian, former Vice Chancellor of Bharatiar University and Nurul Islam University, Tamil Nadu as the Chairperson and Prof Narinder Kr Dogra, Dept of Political Science, Punjabi University, Patiala as the member coordinator of the team. Another member present during the visit was Dr Baban B Taywade, Principal, Dhanwate National Congress, Nagpur.
The college bagged this accreditation just when it is during its golden jubilee year and this indeed is the best part about it. The award in itself gives a tribute to the college’s founding fathers, many of whom are no more today. Satya Nath das, founder Principal, Hrishikesh Goswami, president of the governing body, Dr Bhusan Chandra Pathak, the Principal of the college, Dr Sanbhu Saran Singh, Vive Principal Of the college, and Dr Sultan Ali Ahmed, IAQC coordinator said that they are more than contend on the result and thanks each and every member associated with the college for their contribution in making the college one of the best among all.
