CBSE to conduct CTET 2026 Exam in 4 Shifts due to Rise in Number of ApplicantsCBSE CTET 2026 Examination: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revised the test schedule for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) February 2026 session, which will now be conducted in four shifts over two days due to a huge rise in the number of applicants. The reason for the massive rise in the number of applicants is the recent government policy that has made it mandatory for all teaching staff to qualify for a TET to be appointed or promoted in government as well as recognised private schools.
According to an official public notice issued by the CBSE, the 21st edition of the CTET exam, which was scheduled to take place on February 8, 2026, will now be held on February 7 and 8, 2026, in 140 cities across India. There will be two shifts every day, covering Paper I and Paper II.
