CLAT Counselling 2023: Today, on December 28, 2022, the Consortium of NLUs declared the detailed schedule for all the counselling rounds of CLAT 2023, and the same can be checked here. The counselling process has begun with the registration process today itself, December 22 at 6 PM. The candidates who are deemed eligible for participation in CLAT 2023 counselling have been invited to participate in the admissions counselling process in accordance with the rank list and the admissions matrix provided by each NLU. The same has also been conveyed via their candidate logins and the invite must be ensured through the official website, in case if any email/SMS is not received.
As the number of counselling participants is almost as high as five times the number of available seats, the competition for NLU admissions is tough. However, 61 non-NLU affiliate universities will also use CLAT 2023 scores for admissions from this year onwards for 5-year integrated UG law programmes as well as PG law programmes.
Important Notice by the Consortium of NLUs:
The National Law University, Tripura has informed the Consortium of National Law Universities that it shall not participate in the admissions counselling process for Academic Year 2023-24. Hence, all candidates participating in the admissions counselling process for the CLAT 2023 are hereby informed that NLU Tripura shall be removed from the preferences indicated by candidates

For registration, candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee to be considered for seat allotment. Candidates who do not pay the fee will not be eligible for allotment even if they have qualified CLAT 2023 and filled in their NLU preferences.
- General Category Fee – INR 30,000/-
- SC/ST/OBC/BC/EWS/PwD Fee – INR 20,000/-
It is also important to note that only the candidates will be considered for admission at only those NLUs they have provided the preference for, even if vacancies are available at other NLUs and the candidate has scored above its cutoff rank. The preferences once submitted during CLAT counselling 2023 registration cannot be edited later. Therefore, it is very important to choose the NLU preference accordingly. Also, any changes made to the NLU preferences during the registration period will render the previous preferences invalid.
