Is seat acceptance fee to be paid after COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022?

As it is a mock allotment, no fee payment is to be made afterwards. Candidates only have to modify/confirm their current preferences for Round 1 seat allocation. When a seat is allotted in Round 1, the respective seat acceptance fee must be paid to retain the seat.

A separate link for COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022 will NOT be activated on the homepage. The mock allotment will only be made available through the candidate login in the "Decision Making" tab. The college, course, and preference number of the mock allotment will be displayed on the screen.

How COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022 be made? (2/2)

This sequential (GM, then HKR) allocation will be carried out in a preference-wise manner. For example, for an HKR candidate, Preference 1 choice will first be scanned for GM allocation and if no seat is available as per merit, Preference 1 choice will then be scanned for HKR reservation. If the seat is still not available, the system will move to Preference 2, scanning again for GM first and then for HKR seat.

How COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022 be made? (1/2)

The mock allotment will be processed by a computerised system based on the merit rank of the candidates and the preferences entered by them. For both GM and HKR candidates, the allotment will first be processed for GM seats only. If for any HKR candidate the seat is not available in the GM category, the system will then go through HKR reserved seats.

If choice filling form is not edited, will COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022 be retained?

Even if a candidate is satisfied with their allocation as per COMEDK mock allotment 2022 and wishes to retain the seat, there is no provision available to do so. If such candidates choose to not alter/modify their choice filling preferences, it cannot assure the same seat allocation in Round 1 as the changes made by other students will ultimately affect the seat allocation of each candidate. So, the same seat may or may not be allocated during the actual seat allocation in Round 1.

COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022: Can choice filling form be edited for each round?

Yes, the provision to edit the choice filling form has been made available before the seat allotment of each round. Hence, the choices entered after COMEDK mock allotment 2022 will only be considered for the first round of counselling while separate choice modification opportunities will be provided for Rounds 2 and 3.

COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022: HKR Reservation Criteria

As per the government orders, 70% of the seats are reserved in favour of Local Candidates in the Institutions located in the Hyderabad Karnataka Region (HKR) and 8% of the seats are reserved for the candidates of the Hyderabad Karnataka Region in the Institutions located outside the HK region. The Hyderabad-Karnataka region comprises of the following districts:

(i) Gulbarga,

(ii) Yadgir,

(iii) Bidar,

(iv) Koppal,

(v) Raichur,

(vi) Bellary, and

(vii) Vijayanagara.

COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022: Seat Reservation for SC/ST/OBC

For COMEDK Seat Allotment, there is no separate reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC candidates. For these categories, only the eligibility criteria for participation in counselling have been reduced to 40% (as opposed to 45% for unreserved categories) but no category-wise seat reservation is available through COMEDK counselling.

As per the 04.10.2022 revision of COMEDK B.Tech Seat Matrix 2022, 21 new seats have been added. While earlier 18,439 seats were available; now, 18,460 seats are available whose distribution is as follows:

Total GM Seats: 16,014 (19 seats added)

Total HKR Seats: 2,446 (2 seats added)

Total Seats: 18,460 (21 seats added)

COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022: Many students against COMEDK counselling postponement

While AIDSO vice president offered a solution that halting COMEDK counselling is the best way to resolve the ambiguity formed due to the delay of KCET counselling, many students want COMEDK counselling to proceed as scheduled, given that the overlap of the students who gave both exams is minor. However, as stated by the KEA director, the final round of COMEDK counselling may eventually be delayed if KCET counselling does not begin within time. For now, Round 1 and 2 (for both GM and HKR) students is to be carried as per the given dates.

KEA director, Ramya S, also added that the overlap of students taking KCET and COMEDK is minor. However, the vice-president of the All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) argued, stating, "The best solution would be to halt COMEDK counselling until KCET counselling begins."

"We will ensure that no student faces any problems or penalties if they give up their private college seats for those in government colleges through KCET counselling. We are also ensuring that the final round of COMEDK counselling will only be conducted after KCET counselling process commences."

Both exams providing admissions to engineering courses, KCET counselling was delayed because of the repeaters issue and this led to many organizations and students appealing to delay COMEDK counselling as well. These appeals were made so that candidates can decide the final college/branch at which they wish to take admission and not be penalized for leaving a seat through COMEDK counselling for a better seat through KCET counselling.

COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022: Additional fees charged by the institutes

Colleges providing special skill lab facilities may charge INR 10,000/-, INR 15,000/- and a maximum of INR 20,000/- per student per annum, based on the facilities provided by the institutes. This fee will be additional to the total fees. For example, if an institute charges INR 2,42,156/-as total fees, the institute may still charge an additional INR 20,000/- (maximum) to make the total payable fees as INR 2,62,156/-.

COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022: Can option form be edited multiple times?

Until the option form modification deadline, October 6 until 3 PM, the college-course preferences can be edited any number of times. However, if the options are locked voluntarily, no further edits to it cannot be made even before the deadline. Once the deadline is over, the options as available in the candidate login will automatically be locked/frozen.

What After COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022?

Once the mock allotment is released, a link to modify the choice filling form will be activated through the candidate login. The mock allotment result can be checked and the edit of choice options can be made as follows:

• Log in at comedk.org using your application number and password.
• Then go to the 'Decision Making' tab available in the applicant login.
• The mock allotment result will be displayed here. Check the college, course and preference order number allotted here.
• In case you wish to further modify preferences, click on the “Close” button on the top of the page and go to the 'Choice Filling' tab.
• Add/Remove/Change preference order as required and save the option form.

COMEDK Mock Allotment 2022: What is the overall fee for all institutes?

COMEDK has given the maximum fee limit and adhering to it, the colleges can decide their fee. The total fee is divided into Tuition Fees and Other Fees. The limit given by COMEDK is for Tuition Fees only as INR 2,01,960/- or INR 1,43,748/-, depending on the institute. Aside from this, the institutes can either charge a maximum of INR 20,000/- under Other Fees.
