CUET 2022: Some State and Private Universities to Conduct Admission without CUET

For Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 there are around 45+ participating Central Universities along with some private universities. Apart from these universities, there are a few state and private universities, which will be conducting their own, entrance examinations and follow their previous admission procedure to admit the students into different courses.

Lucknow University will be conducting the entrance examination for its Undergraduate aspirants. Lucknow University usually conducts LU- UGET (Lucknow University Undergraduate Entrance Test every year for the seekers of admission into the various courses of Under Graduation. For the academic year, 2022-23 Lucknow University will continue conducting LU-UGET for the candidates who seek admission into Arts, Commerce, Law, Science and Fine Arts Yoga and some of the medical courses. LU-UGET 2022 will be conducted in the month of June.

Similarly, the Delhi University (DU) will be following its own admission process for some of the courses. DU will not admit candidates of School of Opening Learning (SOL) and Non- Collegiate Women`s Education Board (NCWEB) through the Common University Entrance Test 2022.

Punjab University has also taken the decision to follow its own admission process for some of the courses for Under Graduation. CUET 2022 Score is not mandatory for those selected courses of Punjab University. Mr. Manjit Singh who is the admission coordinator of Punjab University stated that prior to COVID-19, University was conducting the entrance exams for the candidates who would like to pursue different courses offered by the university. He also shared that for this academic year university is going to admit the candidates on a merit-based. Lovely Professional University (LPU) is also on the same track of conducting the admission test. The vice president of LPU Mr. Aman Mittal stated that LPU will conduct its own entrance examination called LPUNEST. He also opinioned that CUET is a financial and mental burden for the candidates, who come from a low-income background and rural areas.

Mr. Bennet who is the Dean of Academics at CMR University Bangalore feels that CUET may have a lot of drawbacks in assessing the aptitude of the candidates hence CUET may allow all the Higher Education Institutions to have complete autonomy regarding admission.
