• Eric Garcetti to become the US Ambassador to India:

Eric Garcetti, a close aide to US President Joe Biden, is all set to become the US Ambassador to India after the Senate voted on a cloture motion on Wednesday, putting out any debate on his nomination and projecting that the ruling Democratic Party has sufficient votes in favour of his selection for the post.

• North Korea launches short-range missiles ahead of Japan-South Korea summit:

North Korea launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) hours before Japan and South Korea leaders set out to meet for talks over landmarks.

• Uranium missing in tonnes from Libya site:

Ten drums containing approximately 2.5 tonnes of natural Uranium go missing from a site in Libya, which was no longer under the control of the Government, says the UN Nuclear watchdog inspector on Wednesday.

• U’khand proposes INR 77k Crore budget, INR 1k Crore bagged by subsistence-hit regions:

Finance Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal, on Wednesday, proposed a budget of INR 77,407 Crore in the Uttarakhand State Assembly. Of this, INR 1,000 Crore has been allocated for relief and rehabilitation in various subsistence-hit areas, including Joshimath and others.
