The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday released a press release where they have said that the students of Delhi Government Schools have touched 80% pass percentage in the last examinations. In the statement released, the Delhi government has furnished data for Class 10, 11 and 12 standard students. It has said that the class 11 students percentage has been improved massively in the last 8 years.
Comparing with the previous year’s data, where only 72% of students passed Class 11 examinations in 2017-18, the passing student’s percentage of 2019-19 is 80% which is a notable improvement.
The Delhi Government has also published the comparative data where it is seen that the passing percentage of 2014-15 was 63%.
The government claimed that the pass percentage started to improve from 2015-16 and from 2016-17, it held the place around 72% where this year, for the first time, it touched 80%.
But for the other levels, no changes are seen. The class 9 percentage was 57.4% in 2017-18 and it reached 57.8% in 2018-19.
The government has backed this by saying that with the influence of Mission Buniyad and Chunauti which were introduced to enhance the students' earning skills by the time they reach 9th standard has helped maintain a constant slow growth of percentage in the 9th standard.
