The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of DHS Kanoi College, in association with the Anthropology Department organised a health awareness camp at the adopted village Saraihabi Missing Gaon in the district recently.
The DHS Kanoi College, for the first time has adopted this village and is working for its development in the fields of education, health, communication, transportation and much more. The DHSK College, originally named the Dibrugarh College way back in 15th June, 1945, later on came to be renamed after its donors as Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College in 1957.
Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia, Principal, DHS College, delivered a speech to the villagers addressing the various issues that prevails in the village. He also said that if they join hand in hand with the college to work for the betterment of the village, in no time, the villagers will be able to live a better and enhanced life. Many challenges can be fulfilled with this joint venture. In addition, he requested the villagers to cooperate in the activities that the college has undertaken and develop the village.
Many faculty members took part in the camp including Dr Nayan Kakoti, Dr Abhishek Chakraborty and Dr Animesh Sarkar of Assam Medical College.
