Doctors, Engineers rush to University’s Yoga Course in Bhopal
97% of Yoga seats are already filled in Barakatullah University, Bhopal. The interesting thing is most of these seats have been filled by Doctors and Engineers. The university has introduced the course in yoga following Narendra Modi’s initiative to popularize yoga.
Almost all the seats in the four courses of yoga have been filled in the first phase of admission. The seats for various other courses like Cyber Law, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing and Environmental Science are still lying vacant. It shows that the demand for yoga courses has been increasing rapidly. The central government has been paying special attention to popularize yoga. Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Shivraj Chauhan has announced that every school in the state is provided with a yoga teacher.
Most of the professionals in various fields are showing interest in yoga. one of the physical trainers opined that he has been waiting for a permanent job as a physical trainer and now the government has turned its attention towards yoga, and he is interested in doing a course in yoga for better career prospects.
The University has been offering 130 seats in yoga and a total number of 125 seats have been filled where 40% of seats have been filled by engineers and doctors. There wasn’t great response in the last two years and this year, yoga courses received a gigantic response. The university did not give any publicity for the course but the courses received a great response. Most of the doctors are also supporting to do yoga every day for physical and mental fitness.
