GATE COAP Counselling Registration 2026 to Begin Soon: GATE COAP counselling registration usually starts after 3 to 4 days from the date of releasing the GATE result. Hence, it is assumed that the GATE COAP counselling registration will likely start after March 23, 2026. However, in 2025, the COAP counselling was started after releasing the GATE scorecard for that year. This means that the COAP counselling might start around March 27, 2026 (tentatively after releasing the GHATE scorecard 2026).

Note that the candidates will not be able to secure an IIT seat by registering on COAP. More specifically, the candidates should apply to each of the IITs separately through their own M.Tech admission portals. Most of the applications are closed by the middle of April 2026. However, at first, the candidates should complete the COAP registration, since after that, the students will receive a COAP ID. The ID should be entered by the students to complete the individual IIT application.
