Girl Students Allowed Free Bus Travel in Haryana this New Year
Offering a bonanza for this New Year for girl students, the state government in Haryana will be issuing free passes. The transport minister Aftab Ahmed said that these will be for all the girl students who study in the various colleges, schools, and other institutes recognized by the state government, or even affiliated with any Board or University in the state.
Already the state has the worst sex ratio in the country . The students who are in the distance learning method will not be able to take any advantage of this scheme. The minister commented, “The educational centers, coaching and study centers, distance learning centers and franchise centers of HARTRON and other centers, which are affiliated with the universities of other states and are not recognized by the Haryana Government would not be covered under this policy."
To be issued on a half yearly basis, the passes will carry validity for 60 km, and that too, as per the recommendation of the corresponding school, institution or college authorities. The complete list of the girl students, in addition to the attested copy of the affiliation or recognition certificate, which is issued by any competent authority, school, college, or institution has to be submitted.
The general manager or any officer designated therein will issue the passes according to the list provided by the institution, college, or school.
