Previous Years' Report on GSEB HSC Results

According to the reports, around 55% students have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate(HSC) in commerce and humanities stream this year. Whereas, 56.02% students cleared the exam last year. The conducting authority of the HSC examination is Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB).

A total of 335,825 regular candidates appeared for the class 12th board exams, out of which 232,580 candidates cleared the exams. Girls outshined the boys once again in the regular examination. 74.78% girls cleared the exam as compared to 63.7% of boys.

However, the state has witnessed a rise in the number of schools with 100% result. It has gone up to 206 this year from just 81 in 2017. Also, the number of students with 90% and above (A1 grade) went up to 451 from 257.

Ahwa recorded the highest pass percentage as compared to their performance last year as the students from the tribal district lagged behind in most of the board examination. Also, the state recorded the lowest pass percentage in Chotta Udepur with just 30% students cleared the exam.

AJ Shah, Chairperson GSHSEB informed the authorities that the board also conducted the exams at various jails across the state. 16 inmates wrote the board exams but only one managed to clear it.
