Guru Nanak Institute of Technology celebrated 'Rabindra Jayanti'
On the occassion of birth anniversary Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore Guru Nanak Institute of Technology paid homage to Kabiguru at GNIT main campus at Sodepur through a delightfully contrived medley of performance from Kabiguru's immortal creations. The celebration held at the college's playground.
"Rabindranath Tagore was a man ahead of his time. For the world, he was the voice of India’s heritage, and for us, he is a great living institution. The faculties showcased their love and respect for Rabindranath Tagore through various performances composed by their own “Kabi Guru”, " said the chief guest of the function on that occasion.
The programme blended the soft romantic songs of the poet with the profound courage and steadfastness when Tagore renounced his Knighthood in protest against British Empire.
The Principal of the college read out the letter to Lord Chelmsford, the British viceroy, repudiating his Knighthood in protest touching every nuance of the sentiment and moral strength and patriotism of the Poet. The Dean of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology was a special appearance with his rendition of songs and some fabulous performance by student and faculties to follow.
The Poet resides in million hearts and shall be the guiding spirit for us forever.
