- ICAI's new courses including GST will be open for aspiring professionals, members and non-members of ICAI.
- The new courses will be launched by ICAI in February 2018 to impart knowledge regarding the tax norms.
Goods and Services Tax (GST) has become one of the popular topics among the economists, commerce and management professionals. Students, industry experts and businesspersons are more enthusiastic to know more about GST. With a motive to offer a varied range of courses including GST, Institute of Cost Accountants of India, popularly known as ICAI, has decided to launch new diploma and certificate courses.
ICAI New Courses:
- Certificate course in GST
- Certificate course in Arbitration
- Executive Diploma in Business Valuation
- Executive Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting for Engineers
The courses will be officially launched in February 2018. These courses are open to professionals (both members and non-members).

Citing the demand for the new courses, Vice President of ICAI, Mr. H. Padmanabhan revealed that Financial Valuation is emerging as one of the major professions. Therefore, there is a need to launch a course in it so that professionals can get necessary skills associated with the field. Arbitration is a course that will enable the professionals to develop necessary skills associated with dispute resolution, he explained.
Adding further, Mr. Padmanabhan mentioned that it is extremely important for the professionals to understand the structure of new taxation system, i.e., GST. ICAI has been playing an imperative role in contributing to nation-building activities like ‘GST One Nation One Tax’, ‘Swatch Bharat Abhiyan’ and ‘Make in India’, he highlighted.

ICAI has already been successful in doing an accounting system for Indian Railways. Now, the institute will take up similar work for Aviation and Defence ministries on cost and pricing.
