IGNOU Signs MoU with CSC and NeGD for Digital Inclusion of Students

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with National E-Governance Division and Common Services Centres (CSC). The MoU has been signed under ‘Digital India’ initiative to facilitate digital inclusion of students. Through this MoU, IGNOU will enable students with online admission form submission, online form submission for examination, online re-registration and other such students specific services. Common Service Centre’s SPV Digital Sewa Portal will facilitate the online fee payment. All the online services offered by IGNOU will be facilitated and monitored by Common Services Centre.

Interestingly, the collaboration will play a significant role in arranging around 2 lakh Common Service Centres to act as a single contact point for all the digital support services of Indira Gandhi National Open University. The initiative taken by IGNOU will be highly beneficial to the students living in rural areas. Similarly, the initiative will act as an alternative digital help desk to urban and semi-urban students.

Through this collaboration, IGNOU is also trying to digitize the study materials or learning resources. Students will be able to access these digital learning resources at Common Service Centres which will be acquainted with digital support services offered to students. IGNOU will also organise a series of workshops for Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs).
