IIM Visakhapatnam Welcomes Third Batch of Students

Indian Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam welcomed the third batch of students on July 17, 2017. Chairperson & Managing Director of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), Mr. P. Madhusudhan welcomed the students. Addressing the students, he advised them to value the system, keep an integrated approach and focus on industry expectations to succeed as management experts in the country. He further urged the students to inculcate the culture of excellence. On this occasion, Mr. P. Madhusudhan also distributed rank certificates to the students of PGP 2016-18 who excelled in the first year of the course.

Director of IIM Visakhapatnam, Mr. Chandrasekhar pointed that IIM Vizag is one among the new IIMs that is playing a significant role in offering integrated learning with innovations. He further advised the students to exhibit commitment and take advantage of the facilities available at the time of learning.

The summer placements for PGP batch 2016-18 concluded in February and 48 students bagged paid internships. IIM Bangalore, the mentor institute of IIM Visakhapatnam monitored the summer placements. The summer placements took place in two phases. A total number of 21 students were selected for paid internships in the first phase while another set of companies recruited 27 students in the second phase. Marketing was the top domain in the summer placements where 45.8% of PGP batch 2016-18 was placed in that sector.

Vision Management Unit of AP Government hired six students. A few startups like mSupply, Uber Diagnostics, EduTel Technologies, Next Education and others also took part in the summer placements. Renowned companies like Bosch and Biocon together recruited eight students.
