The Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Dhenkanal, was felicitated with the best media institute in the state by Odisha Government.
The institute received Odisha Media Award, 2015 for it’s acknowledge efforts in the fields of media and communication in the state.
After receiving the award, Mrinal Chatterjee, the director of Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Dhenkanal, told media, "It is another proud moment for the institute. Any award means added responsibility. At IIMC we have always tried to impart the best form of education to the best young budding scribes. This award also means we have to take the benchmark a notch higher and bring more laurels to the institute."
A board of jury comprising members from various walks of life adjudged media institutes across the state on various parameters and adjudged IIMC, Dhenkanal to be the best.
NGO Young India organized the event at held at Jayadev Bhavan here. Various senior journalists, poets, columnists attended a panel discussion on the occasion.
