The course-wise cutoff for each student category is now available for interested candidates to refer to. Based on the cutoff and relevant exam qualification, students will be shortlisted for the personal interview round. It is mandatory for all eligible candidates to apply for the PhD admission process by November 10, 2025 . Students will have to bring their original documents during the interview round for verification purposes.

Here are some of the important guidelines to keep in mind while applying for the PhD admission process at IISc Bangalore:

• Students who have cleared the cutoff requirements but did not receive a call letter for the interview round must contact the admission office on or before November 10, 2025.

• Documents such as the application form, NET or GATE scorecard and a government-issued identification must be submitted during the personal interview round for eligibility verification.

• A rank system in the cutoff data is used for National Entrance Tests like the Joint CSIR UGC NET for JRF, JEST, and GPAT.

• A score system is used to denote the cutoff in the National Entrance Tests like the UGC NET for JRF, and GATE.

• Students are required to have a 'JRF' fellowship if they have applied for PhD admission through the Joint CSIR UGC NET for JRF and the UGC NET for JRF.

• The admission authority will not allow any changes to the students’ application forms right before the personal interview process.
