IIT Kharagpur has partnered with REDOC SPI to strengthen collaboration in doctoral education and research. The partnership between the two will promote research programmes through the medium of exchange programmes, visits, joint academic and research doctoral programmes.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two institutions on 3rd October 2018 in Kolkata during the Choose France Tour Event. As a part of the pact, both IIT KGP and REDOC SPI will launch many sections on their website related to doctoral studies in mechanical and electrical engineering. These sections will have all the required information and details of relevant opportunities.

Professor Anandaroop Bhattacharya, Coordinator, Collaborative Initiative, IIT KGP, said that the association will help students with an option to pursue doctoral programmes in 27 doctoral schools throughout France. It will also focus on introducing joint academic and research activities such as seminars, workshops, short courses, and others.

Meanwhile, Prof Hubert Romat, Director of International Relations will be the coordinator from REDOC SPI for the collaboration. During the event, he expressed his excitement regarding their association with IIT KGP.
Apart from collaboration in doctoral research, the pact also aims at strengthening social, technological and cultural relations between the countries. The funding opportunities regarding the same could be sought from the Indo-French 'Raman Charpak Fellowship' programme which is an initiative of IFCPAR/CEFIPRA.
