Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has recently updated its e-book collection in the central library, Dr. Zakir Husain Library, keeping in mind the present situation. Due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country, many students are now preferring the mode of online learning. Hence, JMI came up with this idea so that students can get access to more e-books for their online studying. The expanded e-book collection of Jamia will be open for the general public as well. The collection is both contemporary and classic with books from sources like Oxford, Springer Nature, Cambridge, Pearson, Wiley, PHI, T&F, and many others.
With the updated collection of books at Jamia Millia Islamia's library, students can easily find a wide range of research monographs, reference books, academic books, textbooks, books for professionals, and large numbers of books that are for the students in their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The new collection of books consists of all areas of learning, teaching, and research like history, economics and business, politics, the law as well as architecture, engineering, computer science, pure sciences, applied sciences, etc.

One of the most important features of the JMI e-book collection is that it includes a large number of e-books which are of rare Indian languages like Sanskrit, Urdu, Arabic, Hindi, and Persian. The Jamia library content is open for public domain and students both. The content provided by the university is rich in ancient civilization in the Indian subcontinent on a voyage of discovery. This vast literature was produced over several hundred years of India’s glorious past and it captures India’s cultural and intellectual dominance over the world in the field of literature and education. The books stand testimony to the rich past of ancient India even today.
