JEE Main 2024: Since the National Testing Agency has activated the JEE Main 2024 registration link and is currently accepting applications for the said, a few ex-students from Tamil Nadu who have passed their Class 10 or 12 examination are facing challenges while filling out the form. Hence, they have sent representations to the conducting authorities bringing their attention to the fact that in 2021, no mark was allocated to the students for Classes 10 and 12, as the examinations were cancelled. All students were declared ‘passed’ for the academic year 2020-21. As a result, students are not able to fill in the details in the ‘Result Mode Field’ and proceed with the application process, as it is a mandatory slot in the form.

To address this issue, NTA gives the following updates for Tamil Nadu board students:

  • NTA decides that for any applicant who chooses ‘Passing Year’ as '2021', and 'School Board' as 'Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination (Secondary)', the result mode will be set as disabled.

  • The slots for Marks/CGPA, Obtained Marks, Total Marks, and Percentage will automatically disappear from the form.

These updates will also be applicable to applicants who have already filled out their registration forms and paid the registration fee for the same. In case of any confusion, candidates can mail to the authorities at jeemain@nta.ac.in or contact at  011 - 40759000 / 011 - 69227700 for clarity. Any further updates regarding this will be updated at www.nta.ac.in or jeemain.nta.ac.in  in due time.

In addition to this, NTA makes another regulation, after receiving a request from Abu Dhabi, the Ambassador of India. As per the regulation, students must enter their ‘examination city’ as ‘Abu Dhabi on their forms. Those applicants who have already submitted their forms can edit the same as per the new regulation within the correction period. NTA will announce the dates for the opening of the JEE Main Form Correction Window 2024 soon.
