JNTU Granted For Andhra Pradesh's New Capital
Andhra Pradesh Government has granted Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Andhra Pradesh's New Capital region. The University is to be set up in Peddakakani, Guntur District. This University will commence its activities from this academic year in a temporary building at Narasaraopet. The University will be constructed in an area of 87 acres in Peddakakani. Officials have already confirmed the land for construction of the University. The construction of the building will commence from July. Meanwhile the University will commence its activities in a temporary building at Narasaraopet.
The University will facilitate the engineering aspirants of Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore Districts. A total number of 300 seats have been granted for the University. Each course consists of 60 seats. Students who are attending for EAMCET counselling can opt JNTU as one of the options. The classes will commence from 27-June-2016.
There are two JNTU’s in Andhra Pradesh. One is in Kakinada and the other is in Ananthapur. Now, the Andhra Pradesh Government has granted Rs. 100 Crores for the construction of new JNTU. The officials have already inspected the land and has sent budget to the government for construction of the University. For this year, temporary building in Narasaraopet will work as JNTU. Details of the temporary building will be announced in a couple of days.
