Maharashtra DSE Seat Allotment 2022 has been declared today at dse2022.mahacet.org.in and its direct link will be given here. Candidates who secure seats will have to complete the reporting process by November 10.

Maharashtra DSE Seat Allotment 2022: For the first round of the Centralized Counselling Process (CAP), the Maharashtra DSE seat allotment result has been announced today, November 08, 2022. The allotment will be released online at dse2022.mahacet.org.in and candidates will be able to check their allotment by inputting their application number and date of birth. Aside from the individual allotments, CET Cell will also publish college-wise allotment lists which will detail the filled-in and empty seats and their details for each college. 

Seat Allotment Release StatusReleased at 2:00 AM

Post allotment, those who have a seat allotted will have to report online and offline to either confirm or accept their seat. Those who are satisfied with the allotment (Freeze) or allotted their first preference (Auto-Freeze) must visit in person at their allotted institute to take admission. The dates for online and offline reporting are from November 08 to 10, 2022.

    If a candidate is not getting the option to select the not freeze option in the student login after CAP Round 1 allotment then implies that the seat allotted to the candidate is auto-freeze and the candidate got allotment as per the first preference selected during the choice filling process.

    • After accepting the seat through the student's dashboard candidate need to visit the institute to confirm the admission
    • Candidate needs to carry the original documents along with a copy of them to the institute
    • Institute will verify the document and upload the admission status of the candidate in the online system
    • Candidates also need to pay the fees to complete the admission process 
    • A system-generated receipt of confirmation of admission will be issued to the candidate
    • If the candidate fails to provide the required document or there is any issue with the document then his/her admission will not be accepted

    Similar to that of the regular cutoff, for Maharashtra DSE seat allotment, the cutoff for the TFWS category too changes with respect to the institute and branch. However, for the same institute/branch, the TFWS cutoff is usually higher than that of other reservation categories.

    Maharashtra DSE Seat Allotment 2022: What is TFWS?

    TFWS stands for Tuition Fee Waiver System. Candidates who have been allotted a seat under this system through Maharashtra DSE seat allotment CAP round 1 are NOT required to pay the Tuition Fees at the allotted institute. Only Development Fees and Other Fees will have to be paid by the candidate under this scheme. Those whose annual income is less than 8 LPA are eligible for TFWS seats, if only the candidate has opted for TFWS at the time of counselling registration.

    TFWS scheme is applicable to those colleges wherein at least 50% of the seats were occupied in the previous years. In these colleges, 5% of the total seats (including open and reserved seats) are reserved for TFWS candidates.

    As explained below, after the inter-se-merit of the candidate, they will be considered for their respective reservation category. But if the candidate qualifies for more than one category, the seat allotment will happen as per the order of the respective reservation category as follows:

    • Seats for Ladies, then,
    • Seats for Persons with disability candidates, then,
    • Seats for Defence category candidates

    Maharashtra DSE Seat Allotment 2022: Sequence of Allotment (1/2)

    The seat allotment is processed based on their General State Merit Rank as per the following sequence:

    • Open, Reserved, Male, Female, Tuition Fee Waiver candidates are first considered for open or unreserved seats based on their Inter-se-merit.
    • OBC candidates shall be considered for allotment in the open category first as per their inter-se-merit, and if open category seats are not available at their merit, they will then be considered in their respective reservation category.
    • SBC candidates who were earlier in the OBC category shall be considered for allotment in the open category first as per their inter-se-merit, and if open category seats are not available at their merit, they will then be considered in the OBC reservation category.
    • Only EWS candidates will first be considered in the EWS reservation category as per their inter-se-merit, then in the open category.

    All the documents that were uploaded during the online application for Maharashtra DSE counselling 2022 are required at the time of admission. The mandatory documents required for all candidates are as listed below:

    • SSC (Std.X) mark sheet.
    • HSC/Diploma/B.Sc mark sheet.
    • JEE / NEET / NATA Score Card Mark Sheet, if required.

    • The candidate's name should be mentioned in the final merit list i.e., those who have been allotted a rank.
    • The candidate must have filled out and submitted the option form within the given deadline. Do not that those who have not confirmed their option form by OTP verification will not be considered for the allotment.

    Offline Reporting consists of physically visiting the allotted institute, verification of documents, payment of college fees, and confirmation of admission. Offline Reporting is mandatory for Freeze/Auto-Freeze candidates. The last date for offline reporting is November 10 as well, until 5 PM.

    Online Reporting after Maharashtra DSE seat allotment 2022 consists of the candidates visiting the portal, exercising a seat acceptance option, and paying the seat acceptance fees. Online reporting is a mandatory activity without which their current seat allocation will be auto-refused. The deadline for online reporting is November 10, until 3 PM.

    Maharashtra DSE Seat Allotment 2022: Can I Refuse a Seat?

    Yes, the option to refuse a seat altogether is also available after Maharashtra DSE seat allotment, although not directly. Those who wish to refuse their seat must not pay the seat acceptance fee and their current allocation will be auto-refused and considered as a vacant seat for the next round. They will remain eligible for the next rounds. However, it is advised to retain a seat and go for betterment than refuse a seat to go for betterment.

    After Maharashtra DSE Seat Allotment 2022, the seat acceptance fee can only be paid online. Cash, Demand Drafts, Cheques, etc. are not allowed. The online fee payment can be done using BHIM UPI, Debit/Credit Cards, and Net Banking options.

    Those candidates who have opted to retain their seat i.e., those who selected Auto-Freeze/Freeze/Betterment options, will have to mandatorily pay the Seat Acceptance Fee otherwise their selected option will not be considered. Candidates not paying the seat acceptance fee will lose their current allocation though they will be eligible for participation in further counselling rounds. The seat acceptance fee is INR 1,000/-

    In the event wherein a candidate has been allotted a seat but is not satisfied with the allotment and wishes to go for seat modification in Round 2 shall opt for Betterment during the online reporting. Post Maharashtra DSE seat allotment, the Betterment option allows candidates to retain their current seat allocation and go for seat modification. However, once a better seat is allotted, the current allocation will automatically be cancelled and the candidate will have no claim to the currently allotted seat now.

    Freeze is one of the two options that can be exercised by the candidates after Maharashtra DSE seat allotment. If a candidate who has been allotted Preference 2 or lower but is satisfied with their seat allotment and does not wish for further betterment can voluntarily Freeze their seat to confirm it. Such candidates too will have to visit their allotted institute to confirm their admission otherwise their allotted seat will be cancelled.

    As per the guidelines given by CET Cell, those candidates who have been allotted their first preference as given in the option form will have their seats Auto-Freezed by the system. This indicates that it is mandatory for Preference #1 allotted candidates to take admission at their allotted institute. Such candidates will not be allowed for any of the upcoming counselling rounds, regardless if they take admission there or not.
