MAKAUT, also known as the Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology will launch new job-oriented courses from the next academic session (2018-19). The purpose to launch new courses is to make students industry ready and improve the employability chances of the students. The varsity offers engineering courses in more than 50 subjects at UG and PG levels.
New Courses to be Launched by MAKAUT: -

- Real Estate Management
- Artificial Intelligence
- Data Science
- Data Analytics
- Big Data

At present, over 197 colleges are affiliated to MAKAUT. Vice Chairman of varsity, Mr. Saikat Maitra revealed that the affiliated colleges are sending applications to launch new vocational and research-oriented courses.
Adding further, Vice Chairman of MAKAUT mentioned that the varsity has no problem in allowing colleges to launch new courses. However, the approval will be given only after inspecting the infrastructure of the respective college. Launching job oriented courses will be beneficial for students, as well as, industry. There is more demand for skilled professionals in varied fields, and MAKAUT will do its best in meeting the industry demand, Mr. Saikat added.

Apart from launching new courses, MAKAUT is planning to integrate Robotics in their engineering courses. The varsity is also taking steps to digitise the process of evaluation of answer scripts to ensure transparency in the evaluation process. The process to transform existing evaluation system is underway and it will be implemented soon.
