The University of Mumbai will soon allow students to check/ access corrected answer sheets of exams. Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, Mr. Suhas Pednekar confirmed that students would have a chance to view the correct answer sheet online. The move will regulate the students to apply for re-evaluation. So far, the varsity has been providing the copy of corrected answer sheet only those students who had applied for re-evaluation, he added.
Explaining further, Mr. Suhas Pednekar mentioned that the varsity is planning to make scanned copies of answer sheets available online along with the marks assigned. The varsity will initiate the process of creating a students’ portal through which one can access or view the correct answer sheet. The varsity will not charge any fee from the students to provide access to view corrected answer sheets. Students need to create a login id and password on the website to check the answer sheets, he explained.
As per the current students, students need to apply for re-evaluation and pay the prescribed fee to check the corrected answer sheets.
MU Vice Chancellor further indicated the onscreen assessment system of answer sheets is working fine after a slew of reforms introduced by varsity earlier this year. The varsity has been able to assess 89% of answer sheets of summer semester exam that took place from April to June 2018. The varsity will complete the assessment of 11% pending answer sheets soon, he confirmed.
Acting Director of Board of Examination & Assessment – Mumbai University, Mr. Arjun Ghatule revealed that the pending answer sheets to be assessed belong to PG courses offered by Institute of Distance and Open Learning.
