A three-member NAAC peer team visited RG Baruah College from May 24 to May 26 with regards to the 2nd cycle of assessment and accreditation of the institution. The team included Chairperson Prof Yogesh Kumar Sharma, Former Vice Chancellor, Singhania University and Former Dean, International School of Business Management, Jaipur; Member Coordinator Prof Ramesh Chand, Dept of Education, Himachal Pradesh University, Summer Hill, Shimla, and member Dr Pratibha S Gaikwad, Principal Dhananjayrao Gadgil College of Commerce, Powaj Naka, Satara Maharashtra.
A thorough assessment of the college was done, verifying all the documents, records and departments. There was also an interactive session with the staff, students, parents, alumni, dignitaries, college development cells, library etc. The team also took part in a lunch-meeting and a cultural programme organised by the students of the college during the three-day visit.
An exit meeting was held as a conclusion, wherein the Principal, Dr Babita Choudhary, welcomed the team and staff of the college. A sealed confidential report was handed over to the Principal of the college by Chairperson Prof Sharma. The team expressed their happiness in the college’s functioning and also said that it was an honour visiting such a prestigious college of the state.
