A two-day national seminar on ‘Education, Ethics and Excellence In India’ was held at Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Nalbari. The seminar was sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (North Eastern Regional Centre) and organised under the aegis of Department of Education, Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University in association with Nalbari Commerce College.
The event was inaugurated by Prof Dipak Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor of the institute while Dr. Hemendra Sarma, Registrar of the University and chairman of the seminar delivered the welcome lecture. A total of 237 members from different institutions participated in the national seminar wherein they exchanged ideas and a total of 201 papers were presented in the technical sessions at the event.
Among the faculty members that participated in the seminar were Prof Jagat Swargiary, Prof Hem Baruah, Prof Sibnath Sarma, Prof Lutfun Rasul Saikia, Prof Kaberi Saha, Dr. Birendra Deka and many others.
Prof Hari Prasad Sarma, Rector of Gauhati University and Pramode Ch Chakravarty, former Principal of Nalbari College were made guests of honour for the programme. The theme for the national seminar was appreciated by all the members present during the event. They mentioned that it was indeed a very important theme and has its significant in the present day.
