National Convention by State Platform for Common Schooling System
A national level convention was organised by the State Platform for Common Schooling System yesterday i.e. 14th July’ 16.
Convention discussed the problems with the draft that was released last month by HRD Ministry.
It was the draft of NEP i.e. National Education Policy (NEP). The draft was criticised by educationists during this convention and the key features were discussed.
A report was released questioning the need and importance to release another draft by the Ministry of HRD. The report was released by P Ratnasabapathy who is the president of the state platform and TSR Subramaniam committee.
Following are some of the threats that were mentioned by the President of State Platform during convention:
- Intrusion of foreign agencies into Indian education system
- Evading reservation
- Privatisation of education
