NEET 2023: Total Number of MBBS Seats in IndiaTotal MBBS Seats in India: As per the latest data available on the official website of the National Medical Commission (NMC) at nmc.org.in, there are a total of 681 colleges in India offering 1,04,333 MBBS seats in total. This year, 3550 sets in 29 colleges have been added to the list. These seats are for the government as well as private colleges and span all categories. Based on the college type, the category-wise reservations will slightly differ, details of which will be given in the information bulletin for NEET 2023 counselling.
Out of the total number of seats, 54,278 seats are in government colleges while 50,315 are in private and other colleges. Currently, Tamil Nadu has the highest number of MBBS seats at 11,675 seats, followed by Karnataka at 11,270 seats, and Maharashtra at 10,595 seats.
