In 2023, the examination was held on March 7, and the application form for the same was out on January 7, 2023. In 2022, the examination was held on May 21, and the application form was out on January 15, and in 2021, the examination took place on September 11, and the form was out on January 23. Going by the same pattern, the application forms for NEET PG 2024 should have been out by now, given that NEET PG 2024 has been scheduled for March 3, 2024, but the registration form release is being delayed, and the students are wondering why.
In regards to the same, PTI News on January 7 shared, "The NEET-PG examination is likely to be held in the first week of July. The counselling is likely to begin in the first week of August."
Many candidates are also sharing their opinions on X, formerly Twitter.
A candidate, Dr Mahpara, said on Twitter "To all fellow candidates of NEET PG. For the past few days, we have been facing a wind shift effect due to different news and things coming up. Whatever it be let’s presume it to be March. Don’t ruin your time, or mental health and keep false hopes".
Another aspirant, Dr Anurag Goya, said, "There is no point in taking the exam in March and waiting for counselling till September. It is in the interest of the students that the NEET PG exam is scheduled closer to the date of counselling."
Through this chaos and confusion, a few sources said that NEET PG 2024 which was scheduled on March 3, 2024, might now be conducted in June or July 2024. The officials have not confirmed the same, but if the examination gets delayed, it will most likely be held in the last week of June or the first week of July 2024. The counselling process will also be affected, and begin in August, thereby delaying the 2024-25 academic session.

Update 6: A fake notice has been circulating on social media. Candidates are advised not to trust any such notices that are not published at natboard.edu.in.
Update 5: The official website of NBE has been restored.
Update 4: The official website of the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has been suspended. "This Account has been suspended. Contact your hosting provider for more information." Reads the NBE official website, natboard.edu.in. The following page is displayed upon accessing the offiical website.
Update 3: The purpose of the National Exit Test was to make the process of medical licensing and admission easier. It was expected to replace FMGE and NEET PG for improving assessment skills, but the process has now been delayed.
Update 2: This year, the National Exit Test will not be held. NEET PG will be continued until NEXT is operated again for admission to postgraduate courses.
Update 1: Since students will complete their internship in June or July due to COVID-19 disruption, the dates are likely to be revised.
