- In the first phase of counselling, candidates must first register themselves for the counselling round.

NEST Result 2022: Documents Required for Counselling Process
- Medical Certificate needs to be presented if the candidate is Physically Challenged (PC). Certificate should be issued by Medical Officer of any Government Hospital with description of the kind and the degree of disability.
- In case the Date of Birth is not mentioned in class X Certificate, Date of Birth (DOB) Certificate is required for the same.
- Original E-admit card, counselling letter from ICAR should also be present with the candidate.

NEST Result 2022: Section-Wise Cut–off Marks
- Section–wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS) will be calculated by taking 20% of the average of the best 100 scores in that section.
- For example, SMAS for the Physics section will be 40*0.20 = 8 marks if the average of the best 100 scores in the Biology section is 40 out of 50.
- The Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS) for NEST 2022 will be fifty percent of the total marks( 180).
- Candidates must score an equal or above Minimum Admissible Score (MAS) to secure a merit rank.
- Candidates who score an equal or more MAS but failed to secure SMAS in the general section in at least three sections will not be allotted merit rank.

NEST Result 2022: NEST 2022 Scoring system
- In the NEST 2022 examination, there are four sections of 50 marks each.
- The percentile score will be calculated on the basis of the relative performance of all the qualified candidates in the respective session.
- The highest score in each session will be the 100th percentile.
- Merit lists for NISER and CEBS will be prepared separately.
- During the preparation of the merit list, the three best scores from the four sections will be considered.
- In other words, the worst score among the four sections would be discarded for the merit list calculation.
- As merit list calculation will be performed on marks obtained in the best three sections, the ‘total’ marks for NEST 2022 become 150
