NLSAT 2026 Exam Date Announced: The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, has released the information brochure and the crucial dates related to the NLSAT 2026 examination, application window, and the NLSAT 2026 shall be conducted on April 26, 2026, Sunday, for admission to its various academic programmes offerings for the 2026–27 batch. The test will be used as the common entrance test for the BA (Hons), LLB (Hons), Master of Public Policy (MPP), and PhD programmes offered by NLSIU.

The NLSAT 2026 examination will be conducted in offline mode at various test centres in India. It tests the candidates’ legal aptitude, analytical reasoning, general awareness, and writing skills, making it a comprehensive evaluation of the candidates' preparedness for higher studies in law, policy, and research.

The NLSAT 2026 application form will be available from November 15, 2025 , at the university’s website - nls.ac.in . Interested and qualified candidates can apply online through the website by completing the registration, uploading documents, and paying the application fees.

Eligibility Criteria for NLSAT 2026 Exam

BA (Hons) Programme: The applicant must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) from any recognised board with good academic records.

LLB (Hons)Programme: The candidate should have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university. Final year students of under studies awaiting results can also apply.

Master of Public Policy (MPP): The degree is open to individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree in any field with a potential interest in governance, public affairs, or social sciences.

PhD Programmes (Law / Social Sciences / Public Policy): The applicants should have a minimum of55% marks or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination, i.e., master's degree in Law, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related field.

The selection process will consist of a written test (objective and descriptive), and an interview or presentation of the research proposal for the candidates who will be shortlisted. The objective part of NLSAT covers questions on general aptitude, legal reasoning, and current affairs, and the descriptive part consists of essay-type questions that test the analytical and writing skills.

The university is expected to release more details regarding the application process, eligibility, syllabus, examination pattern, and the deadline for the receipt of the application in the coming notification.
