Another good news for b-school aspirants, admission to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur will be done solely on the basis of CAT scores. The institute has scrapped Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) from the standard selection procedure.
Candidates who had applied for the institute during the application process will receive the letter of admission on the registered e-mail ID if they have cleared the cut-off set by the institute. Candidates will have to accept the letter in order to secure a seat.
IIM Nagpur offers 60 seats in the PGP programme. Although there will be no GD-PI, the institute will consider a candidate’s academic background and work experience along with CAT 2016 scores. The detailed selection criteria of IIM Nagpur is given below:
CAT 2016 Cut-offs for IIM Nagpur:
|Category||Seats Available||Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension||Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning||Quantitative Aptitude||Overall Percentile Required|
The achievements and performance will be evaluated on the basis of the formula given below.
Final Selection (FS) = (CAT Overall Score/ Highest CAT Overall Score) + 0.30 x (Past Academic Score) + 0.20 x (Work Experience Score)
IIM Nagpur is the third IIM to replace the GD-PI round with solely CAT based selection process. Earlier this year, IIM Jammu and IIM Sirmaur had also announced that they will conduct admissions on the basis of CAT scores without GD-PI rounds.
All IIMs shortlisting students solely on the basis of CAT score will announce the list of selected candidates by the end of May 2017.
