Patna University students observe strike against the VC

The students of Patna University observed a strike at the premises of Patna College of Patna University, on Wednesday morning around 11:30 A.M for implementation of their long pending various demands.

The main agenda of the students was the implementation of the state Govt.’s scheme to exempt the SC, ST and girl students from the fee, to remove the anarchy in the working of the college management and university administration etc.

The president of the student union Himanshu Shekhar alleged that the VC of the university Y.C Simhadri has not been paying adequate attention to the university’s day to day working and neglecting the basic rights of the students.

The students also sought the attention of the VC towards implementing the free education scheme of Bihar Govt. introduced in the end of the year 2014, for SC, ST and girl students till post-graduation level.

The strike of the student union also stressed upon the renovation of the college buildings and that of the university hostels which are not in good condition as they need urgent attention and renovation.
