Addressing the gathering at the centenary celebrations of Jhalda Satyabhama Vidhyapith, President of India, Pranab Mukherjee indicated that educational institutions which are set up by the local people have more capability to develop as renowned institutions like Hindu School and Presidency College. He further explained that educational institutions should not only churn out bright students but also good human beings who need to play a vital role in contributing to society.
He explained his happiness over the fact that a small institute like Jhalda Satyabhama Vidhyapith which was set up by local people completed its centenary which in itself is a great achievement.
He pointed out that various institutions set up by Britishers completed their centenary and bicentenary, but the achievement of Jhalda Satyabhama Vidhyapith is different. He remembered that he visited Jhalda Satyabhama Vidhyapith earlier as a political worker.
He advised all the education institutions to provide a healthy environment to make students pursue their goals, and these institutions must inculcate commitment towards society among the students. He appreciated the teachers of Jhalda Satyabhama Vidhyapith for their dedication and hard work which made the institute to perform exceptionally.
He advised the students not to forget the institute after the completion of studies. These students need to look after the institute as they look after their parents. On this occasion, the President also unveiled the symbol of the school.
He also inaugurated ‘Martyrs Museum of Satya Mela Ground’ which has been named after Satya Kinkar Dutta who fought against the tyranny and oppression of British rule.
