HC Orders Additional One Mark for Punjab STET-I

HC Orders Additional One Mark for Punjab STET-I: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the Punjab Government to revise the PSTET-I 2022 result after granting an additional one mark to candidates who attempted the paper in Punjabi. The Division bench, comprising Justices Vikram Aggarwal and Augustine George Masih, passed the order on Wednesday, November 9.

The order came during the hearing of an appeal filed by Suresh Kumar and another appellant through counsel, Alka Chatrath, against the Punjab state. In the appeal, the appellants sought grace marks for two questions – Question nos. 96 and 123 in the PSTET-I Series B booklet (2017) of the Punjab STET-I.

The claim for an additional one mark was based on a judgement passed by HC in a different matter wherein one of the two questions in PSTET-II of the 2017 cycle was similar to a poser. The appellants contended that the plea for one additional mark was granted by the single judge after hearing the matter.

The High Court stated that considering the findings recorded and the factual assertions, since both appellants have scored the minimum marks required for qualifying the PSTET exam, they were eligible to fill out and submit the Punjab ETT 2022 application form, the last date for which was yesterday, November 10.
