Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala came forward to launch summer courses at college premises. Training under these courses is provided only to girl students of Vijayawada. College Principal, T.Vijaya Lakshmi conducted a press meet on March 29, 2016 to explain about the summer courses.
She introduced summer courses that are to be made available to students:
- Tailoring
- Maggam work
- Saree rolling
- Paper quilling
- Paper Bags making
- Beautician courses
- Mehendi Application
- Saree Painting
- Glass painting and
- Making of Hand Bags
“The main motive to provide these courses is to empower rural women”. She also mentioned that, “rural girl students can get training under these courses and can do these works as a part time to earn money”.
Anyone can join in the summer courses. Those who are interested to join in these courses can register themselves at the college office. The classes will commence from April 4, 2016.
