Special JEE to be Conducted in Orissa

The High Court of Orissa gave the grant to conduct separate Joint entrance Examination to fill up vacant B.Tech seats in various engineering colleges of the state. The High Court has been giving the same decision since 2011. The state government of Orissa conducts engineering admissions based on the All India JEE score and later conducts separate JEE to fill up vacant engineering seats.

The separate JEE examination is scheduled to be held on 31-July-2016. The entrance examination for MBA/MCA courses will be conducted on the same day.

A total number of 13,000 engineering seats have been filled out of 45,000 seats in 93 engineering colleges based on the All India JEE examination. The separate JEE is being conducted to fill up 32,000 vacant seats.

According to Orissa Professional Education Act, the admissions for engineering courses have to be conducted through separate OJEE examination. However, since 2011, the admissions are being conducted based on AIJEE score and the remaining admissions are being filled through separate OJEE.
