'SUK' Announced Journalism Entrance Examination Timetable

Shivaji University has started the process of entrance exams for the year 2016-17. Shivaji University BJC, MJC & M.A. Mass Communication examination's schedule has been announced.

Journalism Entrance Examination Syllabus

1. BJC Entrance Examination-

BJC Entrance Examination will consist of 100 objective questions with internal choice, each question carries equal marks. The syllabus includes – current affairs, general knowledge, and attitude and aptitude question and media happening.

2. MJC Entrance Examination

MJC Entrance Examination will consist of 100 objective questions with internal choice, each question carries equal marks. The syllabus includes – BJC syllabus and media happening.

3. M.A. Mass Communication Entrance Examination

M.A. Mass Communication Entrance Examination will consist of 100 objective questions with internal choice, each question carry equal marks. The syllabus includes – current affairs, general knowledge, and attitude and aptitude question and media happening.

Date of Examinations : (The Program of Entrance Examinations- OFFLINE )

  • Entrance Examinations Date - 9th May 2016

  • Last Date Application for Entrance Examination - 16th April 2016.

  • Late Fees of Rs. 100/- per subject, up to 21st April 2016.
  • With Super Late Fees of Rs. 500/- per subject, up to 25th April 2016

Exam Time-

1. B.J.C. & M.J.C. - 09.00 – 10.30 a.m. 2. M. A. - Mass Communication - 04.30 – 06.00 p.m.

Note - Exam will be conducted at Humanities Building, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

About Mass Communication Department -

The Department of Journalism was instituted in the year 1968 on dated 15th July. In the beginning, the department was imparting education for C.J. i.e. (Certificate Course in Journalism) till 1988. In the year 1983, Dr. Kalme O.V. joined the department as a Lecturer & Head. From 1987-88 BJC was started as a regular P.G. degree. However, they became fruitful in 1989. From the beginning, Shri Anand S.Telvekar was heading the department as a Director and Dr. S.P.Pawar as Asstt.Director (1968 to 1979). Dr. V.L.Dharurkar (1980 to 1982) Dr.L.R.Nasirabadkar (1982 to 1983) Dr.O.V.Kalme (1983 to 1995) Nisha Pawar (Mude) (September 1995 to December 1995) Dr. A.S. Chousalkar (1995 to 1999) Dr. R.L.Pandit (September 1999 to 2008) have lead the department as the respective heads and since January 2008 Dr.O.V.Kalme is looking after the department again as a Head of the department
