'SUK' Holds the Results of 500 B.A Final Year Students

The exam department of the Shivaji University, Kolhapur (SUK) has held the results of over 500 students results, who appeared for their BA final year examinations, due to an eligibility issue. In a circular on May 5, the department has asked the colleges to confirm if students fulfil all the eligibility criteria and only then give out the results.

"Students have to submit their required documents such as transfer certificates, migration certificate, and the mark sheet of class X and XII while taking the admission into the under-graduate courses, which fulfils their eligibility to the course. However, many students have not complied with this regulation which is why their results have been withheld".

-Mahesh Kakade, Controller of Examinations (COE), SUK

He added that students are not going to get their final year result until they submit the required documents to their respective colleges and the same communication will be passed on from the colleges to the university.

"If we announce the result now for these students, it will be like handing over the BA degree to these students, which will be contradictory on its own terms if there is some discrepancy in the documents. To avoid this, we have held back their result.Kakade said that it is now the responsibility of respective colleges to find out what documents have not been submitted by the students and to let them know about the required compliance. We have already published a list of such students on the university website and result will remain with us until the formality is fulfilled. Students should contact their college officials for the same and do not need to come to the university personally, said Kakade.

"Students have to submit required documents such as transfer and migration certificate, and the mark sheets, while taking the admission into under graduate courses, which fulfils their eligibility for the course. However, many have not complied with this regulation.
