U.P. Sanskrit Colleges Face Shortage of Teachers and Principals

The Sanskrit colleges in the state of Uttar Pradesh that are run by the government face a shortage of faculty members. 921 colleges across the state have about 1,148 vacancies which will now be filled by the UPSESSB.

U.P. Sanskrit Colleges Face Shortage of Teachers and Principals

The Sanskrit colleges in Uttar Pradesh that are aided by the government are facing a severe shortage of principals and teachers. According to the State Education Department, in a total of 921 such colleges that are operating in different districts of the state, about 1,148 posts of assistant teachers and principals are vacant currently.

The report by the education department of Uttar Pradesh revealed that about 891 posts of assistant teachers and 257 posts of principals are vacant in these Sanskrit colleges. The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Service Selection Board (UPSESSB), which has its headquarters in Prayagraj, will commence with the recruitment process to fill up these posts.

The Education Directorate of Uttar Pradesh had sent details of all the vacant positions to UPSESSB already so that they could begin the recruitment process. The Deputy Director, Pramod Kumar, said that the state government had decided to appoint teachers and principals for these colleges last year itself. The recruitment process of these institutions was earlier undertaken at the level of District Inspector of Schools.

Of all the vacancies that are existing in the state, the maximum is in the city of Varanasi. According to information received by the Education Directorate of UP, the district of Varanasi has 83 posts of assistant teachers and 20 posts of principals vacant. The total number of vacancies in the district reaches 135. Meanwhile, Ghazipur has a total of 25 vacancies (7 of principals and 18 of assistant teachers) and Chandauli has 7 (1 of principals and 6 of assistant teachers).

Similarly, the vacancies in other divisions are given below:

The Gorakhpur division has a total of 117 vacancies which include the following.

  • 52 vacancies in Gorakhpur district (9 posts of principals and 43 posts of assistant teachers)
  • 24 vacancies in Deoria (19 posts of assistant teachers and 5 posts of principals)
  • 20 vacancies in Kushinagar (15 for assistant teachers and 5 for principals)
  • 21 in the Maharajganj district (17 for assistant teachers and 4 for principals).

Chitrakoot division has 84 vacancies in total

  • Banda- 40
  • Chitrakoot- 24
  • Hamirpur- 15
  • Mahoba- 5
  • Jhansi division has 37 vacancies
  • Jhansi- 19
  • Lalitpur- 5
  • Jalaon- 13

Agra division has 83 vacancies

  • Agra- 14
  • Mainpuri- 13
  • Firozabad- 8
  • Prayagraj division has 64 vacancies
  • Kaushambi- 23

  • Azamgarh- 74
  • Sahranpur- 12
