VIT and Volvo collaborated for M.Tech (Image Credits: Wikimedia)VIT and Volvo Automobile M.Tech Programme: The Vellore Institute of Technology and automobile manufacturing giant, Volvo, has signed an agreement to offer a specialised M.Tech programme in Automobile Engineering. The unique programme will be offered within the current M.Tech course at the institute. This collaboration has taken place to equip the students with upcoming skills and equipment being demanded in the automobile industry. According to a VIT official, this course will prove to be a major jump in Automobile education in the country with an industry expert like Volvo India training the students with the newest technologies.
VIT and Volvo to offer a Specialised M.Tech Programme in Automobile Engineering
The agreement between both organisations was signed by Volvo Group India Pvt. Ltd. Managing Director Kamal Bali and VIT Registrar T. Jayabarathi. According to this agreement, Volvo India will become a knowledge partner to the M.Tech Automobile students of VIT and share information on the latest mechanical practices, research, and current industry trends. Enrolling on this course will provide the students with a comprehensive insight into the best ongoing practices in the automobile manufacturing industry.
Additionally, Volvo has announced that the students who pursue this course will be allowed to intern at the company’s industrial facility. Additionally, this will give the students a comparatively good start in their automotive careers. Mr. Bali said that the company is aiming to create an ecosystem to deploy the latest technologies to achieve propulsion systems a Net Zero by 2040. He added that this goal is unachievable without the partnership of stakeholders.
