About Uniraj
UNIRAJ, also known as the University of Rajasthan, was established in 1947 as the University of Rajputana. This public state university is among the oldest universities in Rajasthan. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university is accredited with A+ Grade by NAAC. Further, UNIRAJ has been awarded with "University with Potential for Excellence" award by the UGC. The university has a total of 19 research centres under different faculties. The university has 35 departments, 615 affiliated colleges and 711 faculty members.
UNIRAJ campus is a centralised campus situated in Jaipur and spread over 300 acres of land. The facilities include 19 hostels to cater for hundreds of students from India and abroad, a central library, a modern sports complex, a Psychological Counselling Centre, and medical facilities, among many others. Additionally, UNIRAJ has a student welfare division that offers direction and support to students in their overall academic growth.
UNIRAJ has a student-to-faculty ratio of 37:1, with a total of 26,000+ students and 700+ faculty members. Out of which 20,000+ students are at UG level while 5000+ students are at PG level. Approximately 60% of male and 40% of female students are currently studying at University of Jaipur. Jagdeep Dhankar, current Vice President of India, is among the top alumni of UNIRAJ. Santosh Yadav (the first woman to climb Mount Everest from Kangshung Face) has also graduated from University of Rajasthan. Some of the renowned politicians such as Hanuman Beniwal, Jagdish Mukhi and Kailash Chandra Meghwal have also graduated from the university.
UNIRAJ courses are offered in the fields of engineering, management, education, finance, physical education, science, commerce, law, and others. The university offers 197+ UG, PG, doctoral, and diploma courses. Some of the major courses offered by the university are BTech+MTech, MBA, MCA, MCom, BA LLB, LLM, BCom, etc. BTech+MTech at UNIRAJ is offered under the Centre for Converging Technologies in four streams of converging technologies. Recently, the university has developed a new framework for UG programmes to implement NEP 2020. UNIRAJ fees range from Rs 36,640 to Rs 4,40,000 for programmes offered by the university.
UNIRAJ admissions for academic session 2024 are likely to begin in May 2024. The university accepts national level entrance exam scores for admission. For instance, JEE Main and Advanced scores are accepted for the BTech + MTech integrated programme while NEET UG scores are accepted for BVSc programme. Further, BA LLB admission is based on RULET exam which is the university's own entrance exam. UNIRAJ PG admission is primarily based on URAT PG conducted by the university. However, the university conducts PIM MAT for admission to its MBA programmes offered under R. A. Podar Institute of Management. Students must note that admission to UG programmes is based on the merit of the candidates in the last qualifying examination.

UNIRAJ campus has all the necessary infrastructure and facilities to assist its students in their studies. UNIRAJ has sports amenities & a coaching facility, separate men's and women's hostels for postgraduate students and research scholars, an on-campus medical facility, a placement cell, and smart classrooms. There is a modern sports complex along with a swimming pool. The sports complex acts as a venue for various national swimming meets and inter-university/ national tournaments.

The university has a big library with 4000 textbooks, 5000 reference books and a large number of print volumes of many Journals.With a seating capacity of 500 students at once, UNIRAJ library is one of a kind.

The campus also has a nine-lane cinder athletics track for running. Further, two cricket and two football grounds are present along with one hockey ground.
