50% Engineering, Pharmacy and MBA Colleges in Telangana under the Radar of AICTE
As per the report by AICTE, some institutes in Telangana are openly flouting the norms prescribed by AICTE. Therefore, the council began to hold surprise raids in these institutes.
Recently, AICTE announced that it has published the list of fake universities across India. The Council also clearly indicated that the students need to check the recognition of the varsity before taking admission and AICTE is not responsible if these fake institutes or universities cheat the student. Nowadays many institutes are mushrooming up and most of these institutes lack basic facilities and quality teaching.
Most of the technical institutes across India do not follow the norms prescribed by AICTE. The students who join in these institutes come out with just a degree in their hand and poor employability skills. The same case is with Telangana where 50% of engineering, pharmacy and MBA colleges lack basic facilities. Therefore, AICTE has directed to crack a whip against these institutions.

As per the report that was given by AICTE, these institutes in Telangana are openly flouting the norms prescribed by AICTE. Therefore, the council began to hold surprise raids in these institutes. As of now, the future of 50% MBA, engineering and pharmacy colleges is uncertain. These colleges might lose affiliation if the inspections conducted by AICTE reveal that the norms have been flouted.
One of the officials of AICTE revealed that the Council has prepared a list of colleges with high enrollment in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and decided to pay a surprise visit to these institutes to check whether they are following norms or violating them. The Council is also inspecting the colleges which were inspected only once till date. Since it is difficult to inspect all the colleges across both Telugu states AICTE has selected a few colleges.

AICTE has further indicated that from the next academic session, if the colleges have enrollment less than 30% for three consecutive years, they have no other option except to shut down the course.
The decision taken by AITCE was hailed by Mr. N. Yadaiah, Registrar of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. He indicated that the inspection would help the colleges to maintain standards. AICTE’s move will ease the varsity’s responsibility in directing the colleges to shut down the course.
